Tom Davis Ace Academy

Aviation Camp

Winston-Salem - Aviation Summer Camp

The opening ceremony for the Tom Davis Aviation Career Education (ACE) will be held on July 7, 2014 starting at 8:30am at Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, NC.   The Academy is organized by the Liberty Community Development Corporation, a non-profit community development corporation dedicated to revitalizing the Liberty Street Corridor.  Other partners include Ibraham Elementary School, the Airport Commission of Forsyth County, and the Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics.

Middle school ACE academy information:

 Winston-Salem, July 7 - 11

o   Cost: $75 per student

High school ACE academy information:

 Winston-Salem, July 14 - July 18
o   Ibraham Elementary School, 5036 Old Walkertown Road

o   Cost: $75 per student

The Tom Davis ACE Academy is an exciting week-long program for Middle and High School Students. The camp will focus on the theory of flight and aviation history, and aviation careers. It will delve into the real world aviation applications, including radio-controlled aircraft, understanding aircraft construction, and design. The students will be able to attend field trips to learn more about aviation and will get the opportunity to fly in a helicopter and an airplane.

The Tom Davis ACE Academy takes pride in presenting aviation resources and tools for the students not only during the camp period but throughout the year.  Public Safety Challenge

Saturday July 12, 2014 - 10am to 3:00 pm

Promoting Public Safety in Our Community


Old Fairview School Park - North Liberty Street and 20th Street

Come out and meet the area's WS Police Officers, Fire Fighters, EMS, Sheriffs Deputies, 
and other Pubic Safety Personnel.

Form a 4-member team and take up the challenge in a recreeational setting.

Entry Fee - $100 per team (Liberty CDC is a 503c3 non profit organization - all proceeds support the Liberty CDC)
