PERMITS & PLAN REVIEW
All new commercial and residential building construction must be permitted by the City of Liberty. The City of Liberty’s Building Official is responsible for reviewing and approving development plans. The Permit Department can be reached at 936-336-3684. ZONING
The City of Liberty does not currently have a zoning ordinance, but development is governed by codes that address how property can be subdivided and the standards to which buildings must conform. The City of Liberty had adopted the 2021 Codes from the International Code Council.
The City of Liberty restricts where, RV Parks, manufactured homes and manufactured home parks may be located within city limits. Click here to view the city's land use map.
DRAINAGE PLANS
All new commercial construction greater than 1,000 square feet must include a signed and sealed drainage plan. Drainage plans are reviewed and approved by the City of Liberty Public Works Department. You can find information about City of Liberty Public Works Department below:
