The Sam Houston Regional Library & Research Center's primary mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to historically significant state and local government records and publications for the 10 counties of Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, and Tyler. The Sam Center also includes the Jean and Price Daniel Home and Archives. The Sam Center is located at 650 FM 1011 in Liberty, TX.
The purpose of the Trinity Valley Exposition (TVE) is to promote agriculture, youth organizations, youth activities and to promote education of the youth. TVE is located at 321 FM 563 in Liberty, TX.
Established in 1994 to protect a remnant of the bottomland hardwood forest found along the Trinity River, the 30,000-acre refuge is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System - a national network of lands and waters set aside and managed for the benefit of wildlife, habitat and you. The landscape supports abundant populations of white-tailed deer, coyotes, bobcat, and an estimated 900 types of butterflies and moths and two dozen species of reptiles, including alligators and cottonmouth snakes. The Refuge is located at 601 FM 1011 in Liberty, TX.
Historic Downtown Liberty boasts a variety of retail and restaurant options for your enjoyment. In addition to this, the Liberty Opry hosts a variety of musical events throughout the year. Cultural and educational resources are provided by the Liberty Municipal Library and the 153-seat Humphreys Theatre is home to the Valley Players, a well-known local theatre group.
